Signing of Contracts for the 2026 Fiscal Year Priority Research Commercialization Program Officially Held at Universitas Sumatera Utara

The Directorate of Innovation, Sustainable Development, and Science and Technology Zones at the Universitas Sumatera Utara officially held the signing ceremony for the 2026 Fiscal Year Priority Research Commercialization Program as part of a strategic initiative to strengthen the innovation ecosystem, accelerate the commercialization of research outcomes, and promote science and technology-based sustainable development.

The event, held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, in the Connecting Room of the IPBKST USU Building, served as a key milestone in strengthening collaboration among universities, researchers, and various stakeholders to support the development of cutting-edge research that has a tangible impact on society and the business world.

The Priority Research Commercialization Program is an initiative designed to ensure that research outcomes do not remain confined to the academic realm but are instead translated into innovative products, applied technologies, and strategic solutions that can deliver broad benefits for national development. Through the signing of these implementation contracts, it is hoped that each research program will operate optimally, in a focused and sustainable manner.

The USU IPBKST Directorate remains committed to serving as a driving force in fostering a culture of innovation and research collaboration that is adaptable to future challenges. This initiative also serves as a tangible form of support for strengthening the university’s research capacity to generate innovations that are relevant, practical, and have strong commercialization potential.
